Biography
Jochen Brusch, violinist
Jochen
Brusch studied violin at the conservatories of
Essen and Hanover. He graduated from the
Duisburg conservatory and the “Royal College of
Music”, London.
After his educational years he held positions as
violinist in the “Herning Stadstrio”, an
official Danish piano-trio and as concertmaster
of the “Essen Philharmonic Orchestra” in Germany.
He now lives with his family in the
university-town of Tübingen, South-Germany,
where he has established a versatile freelance
career.
As a violinist he performs the great
violin-concerti of amongst others Mozart,
Beethoven, Paganini, Mendelssohn, Brahms, the
complete solo-works by Bach and Ysaye as well as
many more works of the standard repertory. He is
equally at home in other styles of music such as
Tango, Gipsy and Klezmer.
As part of the exciting project “Retro Rock” he
regularly plays music by Pink Floyd, The Doors,
Jethro Tull, Procol Harum and other “classics”
of that genre.
Together with Danish guitarist Finn Svit he has
been an official guest-soloist within the Danish
cultural program for children in the show
“Animals in Music” and other shows, performed
hundreds of times during the recent years.
Jochen Brusch has published a number of
compositions and transcriptions that have been
widely appreciated . among these 30
transcriptions of keyboard works by Bach and his
own concert-piece “The Eagle”.
Jochen Brusch has been appointed conductor of
the orchestra of the “Tübinger Kammermusikkreis”
in 2008, with which he also performs
violinconcertos such as the concertos by Mozart,
Viotti, Paganini, Vieuxtemps and others.
His publications on CD of more than 150 works of
the violin repertoire have been highly acclaimed.
A violin by Peter Greiner of Bonn modeled after
Paganini’s famous “Guarnerius del Gésu” is his
favorite concert instrument.
